Recruitment
Many firms that are looking for staff to fill vacancies will often used external recruitment agencies to find personnel for them. These recruitment firms will have a large database of workers who will be able to fill many of the vacancies that their clients have. If you’re looking for work then you can sign up with a recruitment agency and they will then assess your suitability for any of the vacancies they currently have available. Typically most people will have success finding work through recruitment agencies, although the majority of the time the work will be temporary.
Various recruitment agencies will tend to specialise in hiring people for one particularly industry or line of work. So, for example you may find that some agencies will only be hiring people to fill vacancies in offices, whilst others will specialise in providing personnel to the construction industry.
If you desperately require staff to fill a sudden vacancy at your company then recruitment agencies can be very helpful. They’re often able to provide staff for various different roles at short notice, which is perfect if you’re a man down due to sickness. Companies that have to provide maternity leave, or other long term leave to members of staff will often hire temporary personnel from recruitment agencies in order to fill the position during the staff member’s absence. However, hiring through an agency can be quite expensive, so if you’re looking for permanent, long term staff then this isn’t the best way to go about it.
